A Festival Like Mass Dedication Ceremony

Mass Dedication Catholic Ceremony – is it really how it should be like?
It was my first time to attend such event and it happened last Saturday, 17th. Boy, it was a total disaster! I knew I’ve said I won’t talk more about it in as much as I didn’t want to drag the name and the rules of the Catholic church out but please don’t get me wrong. The image of the crowd below tells it. It is as if I’m more like in a festival more than being in a holy place with people bumping on each other anywhere you turn.

I can’t help but wonder why church authorities allow something like this to happen. If rumor has it right, there were around 400-500 children being baptized that day which I really find a huge number for the size of the church and is simply unreasonable. Notice that in baptismal ceremony like this there’s not just the child and the parents but the child’s godparents are there too and obviously they didn’t see that.
A mass dedication ceremony is designed to give babies/kids a chance to receive the sacrament of baptism despite the questionable social status of their parents. Rich or poor this law of the church excuses no one – at least from what I am aware of. And knowing that the growing number of single moms nowadays is also overwhelming, the church should have considered devising a plan where they can accommodate all registrants without compromising the solemnity of the sacrament.

"You look younger than your actual younger sister."
"You don't look like your age."

Do I need to boast here? No... Not my point but these are common complements I received from people and to be quite honest, each time they do, it makes a good music to my ears.

I've been staying here in Cebu for nearly a year now but as I have mentioned in one of my posts here, I barely go out to socialize so I only make a few friends and most of them if not my neighbors are my younger sister's friends from where she used to work. The funny thing is, most of them think that my age is deceiving... I wish I could make them believe what my meaningful beauty secret is...

"Say it to your mind and believe!"

Beauty is not necessarily a certain look. It is more of an attitude.

hooked!

A recent survey conducted by a US-based research company has revealed the growing numbers of Filipino broadband consumers wherein nearly half of these subscribers are categorized as Entertainment and Social Fanatics who frequently do online activities such as accessing personal emails, visit online communities, blog and make online search. Hmm... what does this survey is trying to convey? I may say that my subscription for a broadband internet connection made a clear twist when it comes to my lifestyle. The daily dose of news that I get before mostly from watching TV, listening to radio and reading newspapers once in a while are all but gone. My eating habit becomes irregular or shall I say, more worst than better coz I really don't eat on time, lol. My sleeping hours had been stretched out. In other words, this internet thing is taking the best out of me. For me, it's kinda addictive, lol! I know this ain't a good practice but hey, there is one thing I am sure of... I'm pretty certain I am not doing this alone! Correct me if I'm wrong. Place your comment below if you disagree but that is how I see it.
