An excerpt of their reminder says:
The thought of waking up one morning and not being able to access this page anymore freaks me out. Not known to all this 5-year old page is the mother of all my blogs. I went through a roller coaster-like ride in blogging but never did I have even a single thought of giving it up – not this page! It will shut me down if anything or anyone would take everything I have put up for this page away from me. I hope Google Apps won’t.
Today would have been my late father’s 63rd Birthday but the way we count it just had to change and instead we keep track on how long we have been missing him all these years. Well it has been 10 years. I wonder how different our life would have been if he was still around here with us.

Earlier, Mama and I went to visit his grave, offered him some prayers, flowers, lighted candles and told him “Happy Birthday.” I wish I could hand him a gift like I used to do but I know now he already got more than what he deserve long time ago because he‘s exemplary and a great father, he will always be to us.

Happy birthday, Pa, wherever you are!
Not until my old high schoolmates and I have reunited since early last month. Take note… they’re used to be just schoolmates and none of them are even that close to me because I have my own circle of friends too back then just like they have theirs.

But time passed us by and we have grown into the persons that we are now. Who could have told that we could still come across with each other again the way it happened to us? Thanks to FACEBOOK! Such a dynamic evolution – putting things together, reunites people even from the oldest times regardless of distance.

Like I said, I have my own set of friends during my high school days and forever they will be in my thoughts. But that doesn’t mean I don’t welcome opportunities to make new friends at all because guess what… I just did!

It all happened so fast. We were gathered in one event and next thing we know was to set out getaway plans – all 10 of us! Would you believe, we carried out that first plan in just less than two weeks?

Okay, proofs are here. I bet you should see it.

Then we meet more often after that. Last weekend, we went to attend a birthday celebration of another schoolmate who eventually became part of our group.
And to think we all have personal obligations to take care of yet we still make time for each other. How wonderful!

Though I’ve heard about it many times, I’ve never actually seen it with my bare eyes and yesterday was supposed to be the first. From where I am situated I need to wait a certain time of the night till I get a full view of the moon since my place is surrounded with tall trees. That means around nine in the evening and onward although I had my camera ready way earlier.

I was on chat with my cousin in Dubai while taking my time when a reported 7.7 magnitude earthquake startled most parts of the country. Whew, it was the longest I’ve ever experienced. I was locked up on my chair with my left hand securing the computer monitor while the other’s on my TV. Yes, thankfully my PC table and the TV stand are only few inches apart. And then there’s the breaking news shortly after the shaking. Social media sites were flooded with posts too related to that incident.

It’s already past 12 midnight when I remembered back the Blue Moon. I hurried out and looked up. Where’s the blue moon? Like a child I was expecting it would literally turn blue but did it? Not really! In fact, it appears just like an ordinary moon to me. Then I found out from Wikipedia that Blue Moon is never really blue at all - though on some areas the unusually bluish effect that is said to be caused by smoke or dust particles in the atmosphere is really visible.

Lastly, the phrase “Once in a Blue Moon” if you happened to hear of it is derived from this exceptional event. It is a common way of saying “not very often”. Just as the Blue moon only appear once in every two- and-a-half to three years.

Question: Did that celestial event have something to do with the shaking? What do you think?

If you think that buying a single lottery ticket secures you a fair chance of winning, think again. With the large lotto prizes often ranging in the millions, many people are playing to win. The more people who jump on the bandwagon, the slimmer your chances become. So, what is the best option for you? Purchase multiple tickets and increase those odds. In addition, don’t just purchase multiple tickets once in a while, do it regularly.

Look at the weekly lotto winners. Most of them achieved their winning status by playing regularly, using a bit of luck, and possibly buying more than one ticket. Also, by monitoring the weekly winning results, you can see which numbers are drawn often. This little bit of research helps you to determine the best number combinations to use. This doesn’t mean to say to leave out numbers that are not frequently drawn. Those numbers have a tendency to pop up now and again, so keep that in mind when you purchase lotto tickets. Buying multiple tickets often can become expensive. However, there is a way to curb that expense.

By joining a lottery club or pool, can help you increase your chances without having to spend tons of cash. These clubs are groups of people who pitch in small amounts of cash to spend on lotto tickets. Typically, this can be $5 to $25 per person, or more. Lotto clubs or pools are generally a group of people who work together, close friends, and sometimes relatives. So that everyone knows what the purchased numbers are, copies of the tickets are made and handed out to everyone. It’s a secure way to ensure you’ll get your part of the winnings.

Keep tickets secure and put away until the drawing. This is an important idea to remember. There isn’t anything more devastating than finding you have won, and you’ve misplaced your winning tickets. When purchasing more than one ticket, keep track of them by placing them somewhere secure such as a jewelry box or folder. You can find the best coupons online for small storage boxes to keep tickets safe. Some people go as far as using a combination lock on a suitcase or small safe.

Buying multiple tickets to smaller lotteries is a great idea, too. With the bigger lotteries, your odds of winning are generally one in millions. However, purchasing more tickets can raise those odds in your favor. When the cost of multiple tickets becomes high, streamline your spending with a group or friends. You won’t win unless you play.

I must have mentioned about this a couple weeks ago. Being an essential component of his day to day life, he had to waste no time in finding a replacement to what he has given up (his car) in exchange for peace of mind. Fortunately, he got it after a little over a week of searching.

Buying a car is not on my wish list but I certainly would want to have one for myself when I could one day so I actually didn’t mind him running on it all through-out his search. He even once asked my opinion but what do I really know about cars? I can only pick out my favorite according to its brand and look but other than that I know nothing else. If I ever buy myself a car I would definitely be in need of an expert or better yet read tons of car buying tips online. Thankfully the process of buying anything just got smarter these days using the power of the internet – and yes that includes buying a car.

See Accords for Sale in Provo if you’re from Utah and looking for best valued Honda cars.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-91553248235177327752012-06-15T12:01:00.000+08:002012-06-15T12:01:10.701+08:00Even As Little As He OwnHe has it for years. It made his life easier. It gives him the freedom of conveniently getting from point A to B on a daily basis. But one unfortunate event happened one day that eventually led him to let go of his then travel-friendly buddy - his car. Although getting rid of it is totally against his will, he has no choice but to do so to avoid further conflict. Now he’s out searching while hoping to get the best deal there is that he could get at the earliest time possible and live life back the way he did.

A car to some may just be a luxury but to many it is an essential facility especially to those who are living in small cities in the United States where public transportation is very limited. Even if you say you live close to where you work, still, a car is important to have a life. You can conveniently go on shopping, hang out with friends or go on a short drive to the park on weekends for a little bit change of environment. I don’t think that’s too much for a favor you can give to yourself after all the hard work you have to do each day.

To my friend, even as little as he own, he would still prefer having a car more than anything else. People of the same social status as his may think it’s an illusion but to him a car is a car - doesn’t have to be a luxurious one. There are places like St George car dealerships where you can buy reasonably priced used cars. He actually found one already but still on a negotiation process. If things will work out fine he should be taking it home in less than a week.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-40137517031606504502012-05-28T07:29:00.000+08:002012-05-28T07:29:21.004+08:00Car Insurance for HerFailures do happen – be it on business or at one’s personal life. A successfully launched business that didn't last; a couple's exceptionally grand marriage turned into icy glares and loud, storming talk of divorce – unfortunate events like these are bound to happen to some and often women do get most of the emotional burden in the end.

However, to ladies that shouldn’t be the case between you and your relationship with your car as auto insurance providers have plenty of great deals on offer exclusively for ladies car insurance to help keep your car from degenerating and you from falling into the pit of financial disaster. I’m talking about an insurance coverage that doesn’t necessitate you to pay through the nose should a huge car repair is needed in the future.

Based on statistics, women drivers are considered “safer” when on the road than men. It might sound a bit opinionated but let’s admit it, compared to men, women are more likely to avoid speeding and obey traffic rules most of the time. Therefore, the chances of extensive repairs caused by accident are comparatively lower and that is what matters to car insurance providers – the size of the claim.

Car insurance for female is not only affordable but is also very easy to find. You just simply have to switch on your computer, make yourself comfortable and you’re good to start shopping online. Gather as many quotes as you can as this will help you in determining what you need for a lady car insurance and where to get them. Make some phone calls if necessary. These companies will sure be happy to answer your queries.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-72350584564729565152012-05-22T15:43:00.000+08:002012-05-22T15:45:28.888+08:00Annular Solar Eclipse | May 21, 2012I barely get to notice and watch phenomenons like Solar Eclipse. But yesterday morning while sleeping on a couch a blazing sun rays slips right through my windows, touching my skin as if it’s trying to wake me up. Then I heard knocks on the door. It was mom telling me what she just saw on the news. Half awake, I rose and opened the door and there she was trying to watch the illuminating sun while saying an Annular Solar Eclipse is happening in an hour.

That got me awake in an instant! I mean fully awake. I grabbed my camera then me and the girls started walking a few meters where we could get a full view of the sun without the trees blocking it.

We were just gonna stay there till the entire activity will last. Unfortunately my camera battery died on me after few attempts and before I could even get at least a clear shot of the moon’s actual shape. Imagine how frustrating that was! Even if I had to hurry back to get my batteries charged up, it will still not gonna make it so I just decided to take the girls back home and with only these…
If you are able to make the minimum payments on all your debts each month, and be able to pay extra on at least one debt, you can eventually work your way out of debt. But when credit card balances, second mortgages and other debts accumulate to the point where you can no longer make the minimum payments, bankruptcy may be your only alternative.

Speak to an Attorney
When considering ch 13 bankruptcy, only a qualified attorney is able to evaluate your position. Each person deals with a different situation. Some of the things your attorney may discuss with you are your current assets, the properties that you can keep and those that you have to give up, and other issues related to settling your debt. The attorney will help you determine if bankruptcy is the best option; if so, he or she will help you file prepare your case for filing.

Stop Spending Money You Don't Have
When you realize that you need to file for bankruptcy, stop using all lines of credit and don't take out more loans. The bankruptcy court will not look favorably upon individuals who used credit knowing that it would never be paid back. Most people have maxed out their credit before reaching the point of bankruptcy, so this is not usually an issue. Your attorney can best advise you on what is or isn't advisable to do during the bankruptcy process.

Decide What to Reaffirm On
In many cases, people can keep certain items, such as their home or car, even after bankruptcy. This is called reaffirmation. Basically, you promise the loan company that you will keep making the payments if you are allowed to keep the property. If the loan company accepts your reaffirmation, the mortgage payments or car loan continue as if the bankruptcy never happened. It is usually in the loan company's best interest to accept your reaffirmation, because reselling repossessed properties is burdensome for them.

Begin Rebuilding
Once your bankruptcy is final, you'll immediately want to begin reestablishing your good name. Make sure all payments on reaffirmed property are made promptly. Keep your bills up to date. Avoid credit cards, car loans and other credit following your bankruptcy because they come with huge interest rates and annual fees, especially with your financial background. While taking out a small loan and repaying it can help rebuild your credit, these offers are often a pathway for debtors to go right back into debt.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-35660084921670117772012-05-02T08:19:00.001+08:002012-05-02T11:29:48.101+08:00Of Letting Go...

One day I was riding a bus on my way to the city. Back here in my place most of the air-conditioned busses are equipped with television set where they can play movies to entertain the passengers. Most of the time I just ignore it and listen to music that’s on my music phone instead. But there’s this one time where the movie that’s being played grabbed my attention from start to finish – an Indian movie I believe that’s about, power, responsibilities, belief and genuine love.

One of the famous lines I can’t forget from that movie says: “It’s not the power that’s your worst enemy in life… It’s love!”

Funny how that line strikes into my head just all of the sudden in the last week.

Isn’t it ironic? While it’s the sweetest thing you can ever think of in life, once harmed (whether meant or not) could shatter one’s entire senses in just a heartbeat.

Question: Is there really sense of trying to keep something that doesn’t belong to you?

Probably it doesn’t or things would have been different. For a little over a week I thought of holding on but the more I do, the more it pains. I may just have acted otherwise but my heart is just as vulnerable as others and can only take so much. So today I have decided to set something free that could have mean half my world but I know could never be mine.

Two things:
Time heals all wound.
Things do happen for a reason.

It is never easy to let go of something that means so much to you. But sometimes in life, you just have to learn to and all the rest will be easier as they come.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-79223725024052659122012-04-30T17:59:00.000+08:002012-04-30T17:59:35.997+08:00TriviaTHE SINGING CURE

Whether at karaoke night or in the shower, lifting your voice may lower your blood pressure. Harvard researchers recently reported the dramatic case of a woman whose BP was so high that surgeons postponed a critical operation – that is until she sang six favorite hymns. Her readings fell by more than 20 points, allowing for a successful surgery the next day. With “no cost or side effects, there’s no harm in trying it” says Nina Niu.

BE HAPPIER IN TWO WEEKS

Adding to your to-do-list may seem crazy, but a short daily exercise could earn you sunnier take in life, say Australian researchers. In a study of 218 adults, those who briefly reflected on each day and jotted down three positive aspects of it were significantly more content two weeks later. The items could be pleasurable (taking a nap), meaningful (helping a neighbor), engaging (writing a letter), or any combo. Taking time for reflection now will boost happiness later.

FIST PUMP FOR WILLPOWER

When a tray of calorie-laden appetizers heads your way, boost your diet resolve by clenching your hand. Firming your muscles shores up your willpower, helping you overcome temptations, say University of Chicago researchers. They had health-minded students hold a pen tightly or loosely while ordering from the campus snack bar.
Those who stiffened their finger muscles felt more in control of their decisions and more likely to choose fruit, tea, or yogurt instead of ice cream, croissants or candy! “This only helps at the time of your decision,” says study author Aparna A. Labroo, Ph.D. “So make a fist at the buffet, and then move on.”
You don’t even need to change your clothes and dress-up unless you prefer to play it in physical brick and mortar bingo halls.
Millions of people all over the world play online Bingo because it is helps them relax while meeting new friends and socialize through its forum and chat windows. Tasty Bingo Online for instance offers different types of Bingo games. This innovation allows users to choose their game and guarantees them the best experience possible. Additionally you can play whenever and wherever you feel comfortable as these sites are up 24/7. More than gambling, online Bingo focuses on entertainment. A so simple card game that even kids can play it.

Keep in my though that fraud, scams and other form of unethical practices are anywhere and prevalent online. While there are tons of Bingo sites that offer fascinating rewards and bonuses, it is important to still single out which sites are reputable and which are not. Or better yet, stick to the one you already have been and which site you believe as trustworthy.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-13575392421059703742012-04-22T12:47:00.001+08:002012-04-22T12:53:15.515+08:00An Expensive Shopper. That's my Sister!I have had my first domain purchase of the year recently. We are a family of impulsive shoppers so I thought I could make use of that domain to run a new shopping blog site. I am not the expensive one though… my sister is. She always has an eye for designer stuffs from clothes to footwear and even accessories like bags. She loves collecting them. That answers the question why I have been frequenting online shops lately. She’s itching for a new handbag and asked me to look one for her.

I find www.mulberrybagshandbagsoutletuk.co.uk and their bag choices fantastic. They are truly classy. The prices are just a little nifty for me though but hey… quality speaks for the price most of the time… at least I believe on that and so is my sister so I won’t be surprise if she will still consider getting one of those stylish Mulberry bags. Most of the time she look at her purchases as an investment instead of getting something she can wear or use for just a month or less… and I think that make sense.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-78401547895367256282012-04-17T23:15:00.001+08:002012-04-18T05:06:43.435+08:00Improving the look of your kitchen with BekoBeko are a popular European brand for several reasons. Their kitchen appliances are affordable, effective and quite stylish. Some people might not know, but Beko aren’t just seen as a bargain brand anymore. They offer uniqueness and convenience in many ways. In fact, Beko Fridge Freezers are a prime example.

For a start, Beko are the only manufacturer to make cooling appliances that can operate in much colder ambient temperatures. How cold you ask? Try down to -15°C This makes them perfect if you need to put it in the garage where there isn’t any heating.
But chances are you want your appliance in the kitchen, and that’s no bad thing. Beko have really sleek and attractive fridge freezers that come in some very contemporary colours. Not liking the traditional white so much? Then opt for a sleek and modern black or silver finish. With minimal, smooth doors, Beko models can create a really nice and understated look to the kitchen. They don’t overpower the eye but enhance the overall aesthetic.

But if you really want to impress, then Beko also do American style fridge freezers too. The winner of a 2011 ‘Product of the Year’ award, the GNE114610X has everything going for it. It’s beautiful, coming in a stainless steel finish. Plus it’s got a really original design, having 4 doors instead of the usual two you’d find on American models. The bottom right compartment can either be a fridge OR a freezer! Now that’s innovation.

Beko want your attention. Isn’t it time you gave it to them?
Paying your own bills, cutting cost, spending some of what you make for yourself is just how it is supposed to be and what decent living is all about. Don’t we all desire such kind of living? I do all the time! Thanks to all the online opportunities I came across every now and then and to everyone behind each for helping me make it.

In just a short span of time I was able to humbly fill my used to be empty work station with the necessary furnishings. I couldn’t be any happier I’m almost done paying for things, now it’s time for me to save up not only for the future but for the rainy days to come as well. Electronic application for UB’s EON account is simple. It’s paperless. You’ll just have to provide personal information using their electronic form. Shortly after submitting the application, you will receive a confirmation via SMS and an email. Both notifications should contain your account information and things you need to bring upon claiming your card at your preferred pick-up branch. A cash amounting to 350.00 (roughly $8.50) shall be collected too for the annual card fee.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-89734328891479382232012-04-09T19:43:00.000+08:002012-04-10T19:44:49.603+08:00Hibernated and Back for the _th Time!Well not exactly hibernating but sometimes when you’re all mixed up and could not decide which things to do or blog about first then you would most likely end up getting nothing done. That’s just so me!

Just like when I let weeks pass with so much things in mind to blog about but couldn’t. Can I blame it to my Internet provider who has left me wondering for almost a week when suddenly my connection got cut and the technical team couldn’t figure when exactly they could fix it? Or perhaps to my web host who suddenly decided to transfer the server of one of my blogs to another account just when I am ready to hit the keyboard again for updates? Ah… those are just frustrating events, I know but I’d rather not assume it’s someone’s fault either. It’s no one’s! - Except that I could still have been somehow productive (if only I managed my time really well) despite the downtimes.

Effective time management - I know I’m still struggling on that part. But I can either be an extreme toiler or the other way around. And in order for me to get going, constant motivation is all I need. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t seem like I am getting enough of it as of late. Oh well… guess I only have two choices here… it’s to either keep going or simply quit! Well, I’m still here… obviously not quitting!Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-79549468899936338672012-03-28T22:07:00.000+08:002012-03-28T22:07:14.153+08:00Secrets of Making an Emergency Loan

The concept of emergency loans is simple, but many people fail to realize several things. Although the following information may seem like common sense, these tips are very handy to keep in mind. Without plenty of research, people don't know how to properly use an emergency loan or that there are many different types that can fit their needs. Continue reading to find out more about emergency loans.

There are Many Different Types

There are many different types of emergency loans, but what people don't realize is that these different types of loans should be used in different situations. When considering an emergency loan, you should research the different types of loans and consider when they should be used. This is important in order to help you get the best loan for your needs.

For example, you can take out a payday loan. With these, you are usually limited based on the amount of your next paycheck, but it is enough to help you get through an immediate financial crisis. Personal loans, like the ones offered at Great Plains Lending, allow you to borrow more money – sometimes up to $1,000 or more. Also, the interest rates and time you have to pay off the loan varies between loans.

They Should Be Used in Emergencies Only

For most emergency loans, you do not need to state where you are using the loan for. Many people take advantage of this and use emergency loans for unnecessary purposes. However, understand that they should only be used when you have no other choice, such as for purchasing groceries and other necessities.

Why is this important to know? Doesn't it seem obvious? Knowing this can help minimize the amount of debt you accumulate. It can help you pay off your loans on time and improve your credit score because you have fewer expenses to worry about. Keep this in mind when considering an emergency loan.

They Are Easy to Get

Some people don't realize how easy it is to get emergency loans. Some families don't even consider these types of loans in emergencies because they think that their credit score is too low to qualify for a loan. However, many types of emergency loans – usually depending on the agency you get it from – don't require a credit check.

Keep in mind though, that just because emergency loans are easy to receive even with a poor credit score, doesn't mean that they should be used in unnecessary situations. Only after considering your savings and other ways of obtaining cash should you turn to emergency loans.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-64761671020414750092012-03-20T19:34:00.000+08:002012-03-23T11:10:49.636+08:00A Festival Like Mass Dedication CeremonyMass Dedication Catholic Ceremony – is it really how it should be like?

It was my first time to attend such event and it happened last Saturday, 17th. Boy, it was a total disaster! I knew I’ve said I won’t talk more about it in as much as I didn’t want to drag the name and the rules of the Catholic church out but please don’t get me wrong. The image of the crowd below tells it. It is as if I’m more like in a festival more than being in a holy place with people bumping on each other anywhere you turn.

I can’t help but wonder why church authorities allow something like this to happen. If rumor has it right, there were around 400-500 children being baptized that day which I really find a huge number for the size of the church and is simply unreasonable. Notice that in baptismal ceremony like this there’s not just the child and the parents but the child’s godparents are there too and obviously they didn’t see that.

A mass dedication ceremony is designed to give babies/kids a chance to receive the sacrament of baptism despite the questionable social status of their parents. Rich or poor this law of the church excuses no one – at least from what I am aware of. And knowing that the growing number of single moms nowadays is also overwhelming, the church should have considered devising a plan where they can accommodate all registrants without compromising the solemnity of the sacrament.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-9597143402992093512012-03-14T11:41:00.000+08:002012-03-25T06:33:17.743+08:00How Does Labor Law Uphold the Interest of Workers

The Labor Laws are aimed to make sure employees are 'looked after' whilst they are working. This means that everyone has an equal chance of getting a job, despite disabilities, gender or sexual orientation, and that everyone who does have a job is paid above a minimum level. Combined, the law forms an intricate framework which supports employees and maintains the economy.

Wages and Hours

The most well-known legislation is the Fair Labor Standards Act or FLSA as it is commonly known, which sets the standards for pay and overtime. Most employers, whether public or private, are covered by this legislation. At a very basic level, the law states that anyone who is entitled to the Federal Minimum Wage should get it, and that overtime should be paid at a rate of one and a half times the minimum wage.

It also restricts the hours that children under sixteen can work, and lists dangerous jobs which minors can work in. For agricultural operations, there are restrictions for children under sixteen during school terms, and restrictions for minors that define jobs which are classed as too dangerous.

Workplace Safety

The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH) lays out the requirements which workplaces must meet to be deemed safe. It also contains clauses that employers should keep the workplace free from serious, recognized hazards. It is usually enforced through inspections and investigations, although there are also compliance assistance programs.

Compensation Legislation

Compensation legislation is a framework made up of several acts. These include the Longshore and Harbors Worker's Compensation Act, which provides compensation and medical care for certain groups of employees, the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act provides a lump sum to employees who contract a serious condition, such as cancer, due to their jobs, and the Black Lung Benefits Act, which provides assistance to coal miners whose jobs have caused serious medical problems.

There is also the Federal Employees' Compensation Act, which created a workers' compensation program for federal employees who are disabled or die in the call of duty. The act even covers vocational rehabilitation to help injured workers to get back into work after becoming ill. There are even specialist companies like Massachusetts Workers Comp Lawyers, who can help you to file a claim quickly and easily.

Unions

The Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act ring-fences union funds, and promotes democracy across unions by requiring annual financial reports, and establishing standards for union elections.

These are some examples of the benefits with the Labor Law has for employees. Whether it's Workers Compensations, Wages, Veteran Preferences or Financial Aid, there is plenty of support and protection for any employee.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-72535713755633619682012-03-11T15:12:00.003+08:002012-03-11T15:12:56.326+08:00Domain Purchase PlanOnlinememorylane.com – the only mixed bag page (with own domain) I got left. All the rest of my blog pages now have their own corner/niche. I call this page the mother of all my blogs. This is where I used to channel almost everything I could think of to write about back then (mostly on real life experiences). However the advent of sponsored reviews and any other income-generating ways of blogging is also something I can’t say no to. After all, it is one of the reasons why I blog.

But, over time I realized how commercialized (sponsored links packed) this page has already become so for that reason I thought I would give way for a fresh, new personal blog page. But that is only until I reach a certain number of published posts for this page. One thousand it is and I am getting really close to topping that number so now I am declaring I’d soon be getting a new dot com domain to add up to my also growing number of pages. This time though I have to check first with Go Daddy (my preferred domain registrar) if my desired domain is available before making a purchase. That way I can match the domain name to the title of my future blog page. :DNancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-63859212714248705952012-03-08T13:19:00.000+08:002012-03-09T13:21:07.143+08:00What Makes the Bee Busy?Whew, I didn’t realize until this very moment that I haven’t had a single update yet for the month. Of course I can’t blame it to the side jobs I just recently have. I am still in the same post…just a bit busier than before with the added online tasks at hand.

And while trying to make other people happy by doing my job right, I also got tons of things playing up my mind – most are actually old plans that keeps finding their way to the backseat and never been done - blog migration, blog theme shifting, domain purchase – yes I am thinking of having one this year so I can start building a new personal blog site although I am not really sure when could I possibly spend time for that yet. Again, all these can wait.

For now I only know one thing that I certainly want – a “me time” and that should happen very soon… as in hours away from now. The past few weeks have been so immensely stressful. I’d rather want a break and yes, I am granting myself one. :DNancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703261237805086456.post-30993744279723497352012-02-28T03:14:00.000+08:002012-02-28T03:14:46.412+08:00Five Tips For Making Personalized Greeting CardsFive Tips For Making Personalized Greeting Cards
You have the power to create attractive greeting cards without spending lots of money. When you make your own greeting cards, every aspect of the card takes on greater importance. Personalized greeting cards are a boon for small business owners who want to market their firm or services. At home, personalized greeting cards keep you in touch with friends and family.

1. Reflect Your Relationship

Greeting cards for a business associate will take on a very different look and feel than ones for a close friend. Think about the message you want to convey before you start the design process. The colors, images and text you choose will all work together to set the tone for the card. Bright reds and yellows work well with a more casual and carefree sentiment. Muted grays and browns suggest a more reserved relationship. Whether you write the text yourself, or use a popular quotation, choose a sentiment that is appropriate for your relationship. If you would be uncomfortable saying the words to a business associate in a face to face encounter, think twice before including it in a greeting card.

2. Use A Clean Layout

Take a cue from professional designers and keep your presentation simple. If you are creating your own design and need to use many objects, one trick is to group like objects together on the page. It will help the page to look less cluttered. Take advantage of professionally designed templates that some companies will offer to you free of charge. Using professional templates will still allow you to create the style you want, but you have some assurance that your spacing and proportions will give your cards a polished look.

3. Choose A Good Quality Paper

Whether you print the cards yourself or hire a professional to print them, select a high quality paper. Good paper holds ink better and produces clearer, less muddy images. Paper manufacturers are bringing a wider variety of paper choice on to the market. Select the paper that matches the elements in your greeting cards the best. If you are using a photograph as your main element, make the card with photographic paper. Alternatively, use photographic paper only for the photograph and layer the photo onto the card.

4. Take All Parts Of The Card Into Account

Include something for the front, back and interior of the card. Add a decorative element for the envelope to complete the package. The front of the card is your chance to make a big splash. The front should let the recipients know why you are sending the card. The inside of the card brings it all together. Traditionally the back of greeting cards is to identify the manufacturer and provide copyright information. Use the back of your card to reveal that you are the designer. The envelope is more than a way to deliver your card, it is your first opportunity to signal to your recipients that they are about to open something special. Add a small logo or design to the envelope that gives a hint to the contents. Set the recipients’ expectations and then follow through with a card set in the same style and tone.

5. Create A Signature Style

Add something special to your cards that will define your work and help your recipients recognize your creations in the future. A signature style does not need to be overt; it can be something basic, such as using clean lines, or featuring animals in your photographs. If you are sending cards to business associates or clients, use your style to reinforce an idea you want them to hold about your company. If you want to remind them that your business does things with a flourish, then add extra details into your cards. If you want to convey the message of being a straight-forward company, then keep your style simple and skip the bells and whistles.
Creating your own greeting cards gives you a chance to express your creativity while saving some money. It is a simple way of letting friends, family, clients and business associates know you think they are special.
That’s how my friend and my then mentor described blogging before. True, it is! Some opportunity may just knock while others require skills and competence.

Three months after my first blog was established, it was granted PR3 by Google. I didn’t know the value of PageRank yet back then but thanks to concerned fellow bloggers, they taught me ways on how to make money through blogging.

I started with PTC (Paid to click) programs wherein they say you get paid obviously to visit sites. Then I added paid surveys and tried Google’s popular Adsense - a revenue earning program for website publishers of all sizes. But I didn’t seem to have luck to all these and never get paid for my effort – not once. But I didn’t stop there.

Later I found out about affiliate marketing companies. Again, I tried my luck. I signed up my blog to a couple of groups and luckily it was granted instant approval for most times… probably because of its high PageRank as what other bloggers assumed. That was where the online opportunities started to roll in for me. I get paid to do product and services reviews. It feels satisfying every time I get paid, because then I was able to pay bills, pay for my own supplies and even treat myself out once in a while.

And because I’ve seen it proven reliable – income wise, I started adding up few more sites. So far, I have 7 active blogs running right now wherein 5 of them are generating income. And as of present time, not that I only do reviews but I also sell ad space on my blogs – be it text-based, boxed or banner ad types.Nancy Janiolahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05418621695413999307noreply@blogger.com0
