For years, Asia's hottest music TV channel has been so consistent not only in providing superb entertainment but also in discovering great Filipino talents. You must have heard of MTV Emerge - another huge event that is bound to happen on the television's music scene.
MTV, Jeepney Music, and Department of Tourism collaboration present MTV Emerge. It is a platform for unsigned music talent in the Philippines to showcase their work and to be given an opportunity to win a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music. The contest is open for participants from all music genres such as indie, rock, hip-hop, R&B. metal and etc. Solo artists and DJs are also welcome to join.
Participants should register and upload their profiles, photos and original music on the MTV Emerge site during contest submission period. All confirmed entries are subject to public voting process. On November 20, a total of seven grand winners will be selected from the top entries. Founder of Jeepney Music and famous half Filipino, Multi-Platinum Grammy award winner and Black Eyes Peas member, Apl.de.Ap will be gracing the event and will be one of the selecting judges.
Grand prices consists a one-year recording contract with Jeepney Music and mentorship under Apl.de.Ap. The contract includes artist management and promotion, digital distribution of 3-6 songs and strategic marketing plan for the signed artist to break into both the Philippines and international markets. Also on November 27, the winners will be invited and introduced by Apl.de.Ap during the big live showcase event.
I have personally voted for EyeScream band. They simply got what it takes to be at the top seven - voice quality and performance wise plus the urge to entertain the viewers.
