Miss Canada, Jesicca Nicole Trisko, the newly crowned Miss Earth for 2007 bested 89 other candidates for the prestigious and glamorous event held Nov. 11, sunday night at the University of the Philippines Theater hosted by Utt Panichkul with Priscilla Meirelles of Brazil and Ginger Conejero of ABS-CBN.The following are the official result of the said event
The runners-up:
- Miss Earth - Air (1st Runner-up) - Miss India
- Miss Earth - Water (2nd Runner-up) - Miss Venezuela
- Miss Earth - Fire (3rd Runner-up) - Miss Spain
Special Awards:- Beauty For A Cause Award: Miss South Africa
- Miss Friendship: Miss Lebanon
- Miss Talent: Miss Lithuania
- Best national Costume: Miss Thailand
- Best in Long Gown: Miss Venezuela
- Best in Swinsuit: Miss Venezuela
- Best in Photogenic: Miss Philippines
Those who participate in the pageant are involved with environmental causes and the preservation of the Earth. In addition to its environmental objectives, the winner of the pageant is involved with international environmental projects. These have been promoted to the pageant's international viewers through events held during the pageants. The delegates also take part in treeplanting ceremonies, environmental and cultural immersion programs, sponsor visits and tours.
